A little bookish surprise ๐๐
Sometimes the best book mail is the book mail you never quite expect.
Last Tuesday, I received a package from author Ann Morrison that I knew was coming, but I was still completely shocked by how BIG it was.
I had no idea I was about to open my very first book PR package, and it turned out to be such a thoughtful and fun surprise.

How It All Started ๐
My connection with Ann actually happened completely by chance. I was an ARC reader for Autumn in Charleston and happened to connect with her during a conversation on social media. We exchanged a few DMs, and the rest is history!
The ARC I read was an ebook, so one of the most exciting parts of this package was getting to hold a physical copy of the book in my hands. There is just something special about seeing a book you enjoyed reading as an ARC become a real, tangible book.
Receiving this package also felt especially meaningful to me because of the season of life I am in right now. I am incredibly grateful for the kindness and thoughtfulness behind it.

So… What Was Inside? ๐
There were so many goodies packed into that box! In fact, I had a bit of a challenge getting everything home from my mailbox because I was carrying the box and several things in my hands, and some of the goodies decided to fly around along the way.
The package included cookies, a small candle, pen and paper, eye masks, hand spray, decorative fall items including faux leaves, a bookmark, bookish fall stickers, and, of course, the book itself.
There was also a thoughtful letter from Ann. It was not personalized directly to me, but it was still such a kind touch and made the package feel incredibly intentional.

And Then There’s the Book… ๐๐
I first shared Autumn in Charleston in my June 2026 Homebase Reads post. I was intrigued by the Charleston setting and by the idea of reading a story that takes place during the fall. I was also excited simply to have another opportunity to sign up for an ARC.
I am intentionally keeping the details of the story light here. I’ve already shared more about the book in other places, and I would rather send you there if you want to learn more.
My rating:
I gave Autumn in Charleston 5/5 stars, and I am already looking forward to reading more of the series as new books are published. I am also looking forward to re-reading it this fall.
If you’re looking for something to read this fall, I definitely would not miss this one. Add it to your TBR now so you don’t miss out on what’s to come!

A Little Book Mail Gratitude ๐
This package was such an unexpected bright spot, and I am so grateful to Ann for sending it my way. It was incredibly fun to open, even more fun to photograph, and especially meaningful to receive a physical copy of a book I had already enjoyed as an ARC.
Here’s to more books, more fall reading, and hopefully more little bookish surprises along the way. ๐๐
PR Disclosure: I received this book and PR package from Ann Morrison at no cost. I was not asked or required to write or post about it, received no instructions about what to say, and received no compensation beyond the book and PR package. All thoughts and opinions shared here are my own.
