My June 2026 Reads
One of my goals this year has been to make more time for reading, and June was another great month of carving out time for a few chapters here and there.
The goal of my monthly reads is to share at a high-level about each of the books. I share spoiler-free reviews on Goodreads. Follow me to get a behind the scenes look ahead of these posts and a little longer reviews.
Life took over in June and July, so I am a little behind compared to where I want to be! Moving forward, my monthly reads will be shared in a more timely manner!

📚 By the Numbers
Books Read: 9 – started and finished within June 2026!

Favorite Book of the Month: This is impossible!! I had so many books that I enjoyed. I have come to determine that I love a good series and so, without ranking them in any particular order; my top 4 reads include:
- Ellery Cove Series by Reece Morgan
- Snot Rag & Cheese Whiz by H.R. Burkett
- Autumn in Charleston by Ann Morrison
- Closing Time by Elaine Evans
📖 Snot Rag & Cheese Whiz by H.R. Burkett
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I was selected as an ARC reader and I am so grateful! It was a wonderful book and I wanted to support a local author to me!
My Quick Thoughts:
It was a great read and such an easy read as well – in terms of content and the number of pages. The story takes places in the Midwest and it reminded me of my childhood & spending time with friends.
Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely, yes!!
📖 The Man Who Made Her Still (Ellery Cove Book #2) by Reece Morgan
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I was selected as an ARC reader for the Ellery Cove Book series which I was so grateful for. I had the opportunity to read Book #1 in the series in May and I was hooked immediately.
My Quick Thoughts:
From where this book takes place to the characters and more, it was not had to read this 2nd book in the series. I enjoyed learning about the two characters (main female lead and main male lead) in this story.
Would I Recommend It?
Yes, without question! Read Book #1 first.
📖 The Man Who Stayed (Ellery Cove Book #3) by Reece Morgan
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
With this being the third book in the series, I started this book as soon as I finished the second book, as I was an ARC reader for this book as well!
My Quick Thoughts:
I was ready to continue reading the series and enjoying everything that Ellery Cove had to offer from perspectives, scenery, and other characters making their debut or coming back into the story. Again, I still recommend reading the books in order since each book is focused on two main characters with supporting characters involved in the story.
Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely! Read the entire series!
📖 People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
This book had been on my TBR for awhile. I had watched the Netflix special earlier in the year and was excited to read the book.
My Quick Thoughts:
I do wish I would have read the book first before streaming it on Netflix. While I appreciate that the book and the movie are not the same, I was waiting for different storylines to happen. I did have a hard time reading the book, only because it was not keeping my interest due to have reading the movie.
Would I Recommend It?
It depends! If you are a fan of Emily Henry, read it! If you have the option to read the book first before watching the movie, that would be my recommendation.
📖 Closing Time by Elaine Evans
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I applied to be an ARC reader and I am so grateful that I was selected by Author Elaine Evans to read this story!!
My Quick Thoughts:
The first thing that I loved was the time and attention that Elaine put into the story. As someone who read A LOT in June, it was so nice to see a character list with a few sentences about each character! This was the firs time and I had ever seen this before. This was a cozy-rom com and yet it was a very engaging storyline!
Would I Recommend It?
Without question, as someone who lived life as a kid in the 90s and early 2000s, this was just up my alley!
📖 Autumn in Charleston: A Cozy Bookstore Romance by Ann Morrison
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
This was also another ARC that I applied to read! I am grateful for Ann Morrison selecting me to be a part of her ARC team.
My Quick Thoughts:
As someone who has been to Charleston for a short time, it made me want to book another trip for the summer AND also the Fall! There is something about a fun road trip and exploring an area that you already love. Everything about this story was just the perfect read from relationships and for anyone that enjoys reading, this one is extra special with a bookstore playing a significant role in this story!
Would I Recommend It?
Yes!! For any avid readers, those that enjoy the fall, and those that enjoy learning about family roots & discovering new relationships!
📖 Beach Read by Emily Henry
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I ended up re-reading this book as it had been a few years since I had tried reading the book. I have several Emily Henry books on my TBR; and this is one that I had a physical copy of.
My Quick Thoughts:
At times, I felt like the storyline dragged. I did enjoy learning about both of the main female and main male lead characters. The supporting characters were great additions to learning about each of the main lead characters.
Would I Recommend It?
It depends! Though I understand the title, it was not what I was actually expecting to read. If you have time on your hands, give it a try and be patient throughout the storyline.
📖 Same Time Next Year by Tessa Bailey
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I grabbed a collection of books on Kindle that were available as free downloads. I believe that this was one of the books that was included in that collection.
My Quick Thoughts:
I did not do a formal review of this book. However, I enjoyed the storyline especially with life being life and I needed something different to read. I enjoyed the alternating chapters and overall style of this book.
Would I Recommend It?
If you are a rom-com fan, absolutely! It was an easy read overall!
📖 Snot Rag & Cheese Whiz: Home For The Holidays by H.R. Burkett (Coming November 1st, 2026)!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I Picked It Up:
I had the opportunity to be a Beta Reader for H.R. Burkett with this 2nd book in the series. I am grateful that I was selected to read this book!
My Quick Thoughts:
The storyline continued from the first book and it takes place over the course of several holidays. I love the holidays, so I knew that between the storyline and the setting, I was going to love this novella. I was not disappointed!!
Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely! It’s a wonderful Novella, but I do recommend reading the first book before you dive into this book
